In January 2023, Ross joined Bailey Zimmerman in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina for three sold-out shows. With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. They have been accused of being overly formulaic and of having dubious lyrical content, but frankly those are criticisms that could be levelled at a whole bunch of bands in and out of the various Rock genres into which the band have been lumped by the media and Rock fans in general.I’m gonna play this guitar solo 40 more times for another three days and make sure it’s just exactly how we want it as opposed to deadline, deadline, deadline. And on a musical level, no curve balls means few chances are taken; perhaps over the course of 10 albums a band who claim to be the eleventh best-selling act of all time might have developed their sound more. I must admit that, on first listen, I was expecting another big full-on riff track after all the Pop-influenced acoustic-ness and balladry, but not so! On first listen, I kinda expected Get Rollin’ to have more heavy tracks on it and they’ve certainly top-loaded those sounds into the early part of the album. It really does remind me of ‘Photograph’ and ‘Far Away’ from the classic All The Right Reasons album but without simply being a carbon copy.

Well, we should have been making a record a lot sooner, with all that time off [due to the coronavirus pandemic]. Since the release of their breakthrough third album — 2001’s Silver Side Up — the Canadian post-grunge rockers have sold over 50 million albums worldwide, with multiple Top 10 hits, four Grammy nominations, and 12 Juno Awards. But – of course, there’s no contradiction here – it’s also loaded with sizzling, fist-pumpingly cathartic songs. As for me, I really like this album and happily recommend it to all fans of modern Hard Rock with Pop sensibilities.

After 10 albums, the Canadian band undoubtedly remain a commercial powerhouse, although their claims to be the second-best-selling foreign act in the US (behind The Beatles) may interest fans of Elton John, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc. In 2022, Ross celebrated his major-label signing to Universal Music Canada along with his management team signing to The Core Entertainment.
