About this deal

The FP-10 uses the same sound engine as the FP-30, its big brother, so it includes Roland’s SuperNATURAL engine, which generates sound with more-involved techniques than the sample playback of the Korg B2. Another example of polyphony consumption is when you’re playing along with a song playback (can also be your own recorded performance) or auto-accompaniment.

There is a pedal jack and an Aux in mini-jack to help connect the piano with the phone or music player. If you know anything at all about Korg, you will be aware of their great reputation for producing excellent sounds, and the B2 in no way marries that image. If you are a complete beginner or even an intermediate player, you'll be sure to get something out of this fun and enjoyable piano. And another thing that I didn’t like in Korg B2 (same as in Korg B1) is lack of split/layer modes, while competitors have it.Metronome: The button for the metronome is on the front panel of the piano and helps with diverse modifications in the settings of the piano. The B2 provides a total of 12 sounds that cover a diverse range of genres, starting with five pristine piano sounds from its new piano engine, and also providing richly distinctive electric piano, organ, harpsichord, and strings. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the B2, a highly regarded digital piano, is Korg’s join to the B1. We admired this about the prior iteration, so it’s good to see Korg maintain this aesthetic in the upgrade.

A full range of options such as the dedicated STB1 stand for the B2/B2N and the PU-2 three-pedal unit are also available. My guess is that this is a bad batch from the factory as a number of reports are appearing online at the same time. It comprises of natural weighted hammer action keyboard, which is pretty basic and tries to stack up the GHS action of the Yamaha digital piano. USB MIDI/AUDIOYAnd another thing I wanted to check is how Korg upgraded the previous B1 model, which I used to check some time ago at my student’s house.

The included software – Scoove, Korg Module LE and the Korg Gadget LE – make this model good for piano learning, as do the built-in metronome.

If you’re going with the B2 or the B2N, the included pedal is fine, but it doesn’t detect half-pedaling signals. I prefer Roland’s keyboard action (PHA-4 Standard Keyboard with Escapement) and sound engine, as per me it is more “natural”. These simulations emulate how the neighboring strings are vibrated when you play a note, which further enhances realism. The noise you hear via headphones is likely because you’re using headphones with lower impedance (earbuds?

While 96 notes seems worse on paper, the B2 has varying polyphony, so piano sounds have a maximum of 60 notes on the B2.Today we’ll be looking at an update to Korg’s B1 line, their series of beginner, entry-level digital pianos, first released in 2016. This set packages the B2 digital piano with a easily assembled stand and a three-pedal unit that gives you the experience of playing a real grand piano. It’s worth mentioning that the FP-10 has a fairly modern Bluetooth function, although it can only be used for transmitting MIDI data, not for audio streaming. While we'd be happy with just the five top tier piano sounds, the B2 does have more up its sleeve, just in case you want to broaden your horizons.
