Voormann has said that Harrison "cluttered" the album's sound in this way, and "admitted later that he put too much stuff on top". Several commentators interpret Barry Feinstein's album cover photo, showing Harrison surrounded by four garden gnomes, as a statement on his independence from the Beatles. In 2022, the 50th anniversary box set won the Grammy Award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package. The 50th anniversary release also peaked at number 2 in Germany and number 3 in Switzerland, among other top-ten international chart placings.
