About this deal

If you are in four competitions at this stage and only finish with two - and not the league or Champions League - you will be disappointed." It's one of the first literary accounts of sport's empty stadia (the 'applauseless air') during Covid times Raamatu lõppsõnas oli kirjas ..." There are a few areas in the book where more detail would have been interesting. The section on the type of player Klopp looked to sign was very interesting but I would have like more detail on why certain players were signed – what was it about Lewandawski that made Dortmund pull the trigger for example when he was overlooked by other clubs? However, the book rarely delves too far into Klopp's management style, other than the extent to which he uses player stats in his management, which is not much. More coverage is given to the tactical changes during his playing career than during his management career, and there is too much of an emphasis on his team's results, rather than his role as manager - with the notable exception of his touchline antics.

The story is about an 11-year-old boy who finds a magic football in the attic, which turns him into an amazing footballer. Read More Related Articles A week before Saturday's loss, there was still talk of Liverpool being able to win the quadruple as they were also in the running for the Premier League title. They can be proud of their achievements' Liverpool had 24 shots, the most on record (since 2003-04) without scoring for a team in a single Champions League final. You will learn a bit about what kind of character is Klopp, but as I said a bit. There is not that many information about what made Klopp make that decision or go in that club.

Bring the Noise' is a solid introduction to the man & his managerial and tactical philosophy but feels under-developed in all the crucial areas. As a Liverpool fan, one hopes a few more successful chapters will help to solve this problem for the next edition!

But most importantly, in between the stories the book also brilliantly captures the essence of Jürgen Klopp's tremendous, larger-than-life, personality and the wisdom and intellect that match it. Hence, it is similar with reading books about basketball’s John Wooden or American football’s Vince Lombardy, where we can learn so much more from the great men and from the lessons that they teach us for life outside their respective sports. He is an enigmatic character and has developed a type of play that seems to have worked at the club's he has managed. This was a good read as I got to learn about Klopp's history, his time at Mainz as a player and coach. He developed his 'gegenpress' style from the outset of his coaching days and has continued with it to the present day.

For football addicts, this book would have been fascinating because there were so many mentions of players and historical football tournaments the author made reference to. I couldn't follow these parts of the book, but what I really liked about the book is the author gave enough emphasis on how Klopp started, grew and learnt about the art of football and also about Klopp's superb character which nails him to be a great football manager.

A clear pattern emerges – builds a fantastic team with meagre resources, performs well above expectations only to see a decline – either due to star players being headhunted or the rest of the league adopting his tactics. It remains to be seen if his Liverpool team can compete in the Premier League and become more than a very good cup team.
