About this deal

Much like with Warlord traits, the main set of relics isn’t the full story, with each supplement coming with more. However, with their new largely-unlimited availability it’s worth Marine players knowing all the tools they have access to, so lets take a tour as we close out the main book. If you’re coming here from the 8th ed codex, these have not changed much– only the Ghostweave Cloak has a substantially new effect, while the rest range from ‘identical’ to ‘minor tweaks.’ Quite often, it is the most freshly ordained Techmarines who do so, to broaden their understanding of both Imperial technologies their parent Chapter may have forgotten or found difficult to operate and their understanding of xenos technology that will enhance their parent Chapter's ability to oppose it. However, the Iron Priests of the Space Wolves, despite their similar training on Mars, exhibit a fiercely independent streak by retaining their original armour colour throughout. Techmarine Drumon of the Reclaimers - Drumon was a Techmarine of the Reclaimers Chapter who served aboard the strike cruiser Revenant. The Reclaimers are noted for having even closer ties than usual to the Adeptus Mechanicus, including making their cogwheel hand gesture in place of the Imperial Aquila, and their Techmarines have a place of unusually high status in the Chapter. Drumon served with the Revenant's company concurrently with Commissar Ciaphas Cain's assignment to the Chapter as a liasion. Drumon crafted augmetic fingers for Cain to replace the pair the commissar lost to a Necron Gauss Flayer on the Tomb World Interitus Prime. He subsequently took part in the pursuit of the space hulk Spawn of Damnation from Viridia to Serendipita, and volunteered to remain aboard shortly before the hulk returned to the Warp in 958.M41. The Master of the Forge is an Astartes Chapter's most senior Techmarine, charged with the maintenance of the Chapter's fleet of armoured fighting vehicles, such as Rhinos, Land Raiders and Predators. His knowledge of the arcane sciences has been refined over centuries of service, and rivals that of the senior Tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars.

Rapid Fire – 2CP –One INTERCESSOR SQUAD or VETERAN INTERCESSOR SQUAD can fire again at the end of the Shooting phase (see Honour the Chapter, how hard was that??) Intercessors bring decent shooting and getting to double-shoot them is good for getting the most out of them. For 2CP you really want there to be a lot of them, though. B Auspex Scan – 2CP –Use at the end of the Reinforcements step of your opponent’s Movement phase. One INFANTRY unit that is not in Engagement Range of any enemy units can shoot at any enemy unit that was set up as Reinforcements this turn and that is within 12″ of their unit. Solid and the timing thing stops people being able to draw it out early. B Iron Priest Harl Greyweaver of the Space Wolves - Harl Greyweaver is an Iron Priest of the Space Wolves Chapter who has been seconded to the elite xenos-hunting Deathwatch -- the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos. He has been the Forge Master of Watch Fortress Erioch since his predecessor answered a summons to serve the Achilus Crusade a decade ago. He is notoriously intolerant of other Chapters' brands of tech-craft, but his efficacy in conjuring the tools of war is so great that no one has yet been able to oust him.Echo of the Ravenspire (Raven Guard) – Once per battle, the Warlord can be removed from the table if it is not within 6″ of any enemy models, and then be set up again in the Reinforcements step of the next Movement phase more than 9″ away from enemy models Techmarines are full members of their Chapter, and although not directly connected to the Adeptus Mechanicus, they are still considered members of the Cult Mechanicus. Therefore, they have access to a number of superior cybernetic and technological enhancements not available to their fellow battle-brothers within the Chapter.

It goes together pretty well for the most part and Rob used the Extra-Thin Tamiya Gluefor almost the whole build. Mounting the front claw to the servo-arm is a little precarious though but that’s really the only thing. We’re not rating these for obvious reasons – you want to use them if you want more relics or traits on your list and if you don’t then they’re irrelevant. Marines have good traits and relics in abundance so it would be surprising if you never wanted to, but it all depends on what your list is doing. Strategic Ploy Stratagems Prospective Techmarines are chosen from the ranks of the Space Marine Chapters for their affinity with technology. They learn how to divine the runes of engineering and study the liturgy of maintenance. This great body of lore must be committed to memory and understood by the novice Techmarine.Suppression Fire – 1CP –Use in your Shooting phase when firing a Whirlwind. Until the end of the phase, if you hit with a weapon with Blast, then until the start of your next turn the target cannot fire Overwatch or Set to Defend, and cannot fight until all eligible units from your army have done so. Cute although less essential than it might have been since Overwatch is less of a thing, and the ‘fight last’ effect is less good than the Judiciar one since you can use Counter-offensive to break out of it. Also you have to take a Whirlwind and those are ok at best now. B Many Chaos Obliterators are said to be the former Techmarines of the Traitor Legions. [5] Equipment
