About this deal

This minifigure selection seems somewhat surprising, since the purple-armoured troopers originate from Star Wars Legends." PurpleDave - The Clone Troopers with brown markings originate from the modern Clone Wars series, rather than the Tartakovsky series." Confusing is the word to summarise 75342 Republic Fighter Tank. The minifigure selection is superb, particularly for the exclusive Mace Windu and his colourful Clone Troopers. Selecting these non-canonical Clone Troopers, among numerous potentially more prominent options, is surprising though. Even so, I do love the purple! Master Swordsman: According to the creators, he was Yoda's superior as a warrior. According to other sources, he's second to Yoda and tied with Dooku. He also perfected Vaapad, a long incomplete and dangerous lightsaber fighting form. Don’t miss this exciting rules preview for Shatterpoint for the Jedi Councils’ own Jedi Master, Mace Windu!

My Greatest Failure: Mace came to see his actions during the First Battle of Geonosis as this afterwards. He regretted that he had not seized the opportunity to kill Dooku when he had the chance, preventing him from ending the Separatist threat then and there. These minifigures also wear straps across their armour, further corresponding with the action figures. Each trooper includes a blaster rifle and the Clone Trooper heads under their helmets are identical, naturally. While these minifigures are well-executed, I would have preferred many other legions, or even plain Phase II Clone Troopers instead. A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Mace Windu and the other three Jedi masters rush off to confront Palpatine in the middle of the night, in his private office in the empty Senate building with no witnesses and no one around to help them. So, when things go south and Palpatine/Sidious is more powerful than they expected, the four Jedi die and Palpatine can frame them as assassins trying to murder him and seize power for themselves.

Mace claims that Dooku is incapable of assassinating anyone because he was once a Jedi, but ironically in Dark Disciple Mace is the one who comes up with the plan to assassinate Dooku, and attempts to kill Palpatine due to believing that subjecting him to the rule of law would be pointless with how much power he has. Poor Communication Kills: A large part of why Mace distrusts Anakin is because of how heavily he lets his emotions dictate his actions, and because of how close he is to Palpatine, whom Mace feels is grabbing at too much power. However, he never tells Anakin either of these things, even when the Council asks him to spy on the Senator, which only ends up making the relationship between the two strained. Similarly, he doesn't explain that Anakin being far too emotional about not getting the rank of Master is what prevents him from getting the rank of Master. Having a benefit to choosing Windu with the Shatterpoint card is a really excellent mechanic, especially since it changes depending on your stance. The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Minifigures A Father to His Men: Mace cares deeply about the clone troopers, regarding them as individuals instead of the expendable soldiers they were intended to be, and goes out of his way to help and rescue them when they're in danger during the Ryloth Arc.

Hope Spot: After Anakin confesses his findings of Palpatine being a Sith Lord, Mace thanks the Jedi Knight and tells him that he will finally earn his trust when the confrontation is over. Unfortunately, that never happens. Building on the early release waves’ focus on the Clone Wars era, This Party’s Over adds some powerful additions to the Galactic Republic in Shatterpoint in the form of Mace Windu, Clone Commander Ponds and 2 Advanced Recon Force (ARF) Troopers, each with models and associated unit and stance cards. Mace was once a dedeicated diplomat, but the nature of the Clone Wars has left him little choice but to become a true Jedi warrior. The distinct role of the ARF Clone Troopers can be better understood by looking at their Recon Force stance. While primarily a ranged unit with particularly high accuracy, ARF Troopers can competently engage in melee when pressed. Their Combat Tree emphasizes tactical options over pure damage output but can still deliver punishing shots, also gaining early access to inflicting the Pin and Shove conditions, and the choice of Exposing or Disarming the target. Dual-molding takes at least as much time for one shot as regular parts do for two, if you want crisp divisions like arms and legs. For stuff with a marbled look, like the original Bohrok faceplate, they inject all of the colors simultaneously, so no waiting for one color to cool before you can swap mold sections and inject the next color.

Channels

Alongside both of those key characters, you also have two Night Sisters. One is armed with a ranged weapon whilst the other is intent on getting up close and personal. These Dathomir natives will cause quite a problem for any Jedi or Sith that decide to get in their way. An awesome set of miniatures that bring more of the Clone Wars-era characters to life. Fight Alongside Mace Windu! Action Dad: He is a father figure to fellow High Councillor Depa Billaba and certainly a fierce warrior. Good Is Not Soft: Mace is a virtually unstoppable force in combat and willing to break the Jedi Code if he feels it will serve the greater good.
