While it's difficult to see in this photo, the OXO board at left took on the least damage, the Hi-Soft in the middle took on a moderate amount of damage, and Korin's black cutting board took on fairly heavy damage. When fashioned into a cutting board, the material is pretty sweet—soft enough to feel absolutely great under a knife but still decently durable, as long as you don't hack at it recklessly. Because of that perfect flatness, it can be a little harder to pick up if your hands are wet or greasy, so you might need to slide an edge off the counter to get a good grip on it.

FABULOUS - We've been waiting a while for Oxo Good Grips to bring out chopping boards and they are SO MUCH BETTER than the other cheaper styled options. Flip the board over, and you’ll have a perfectly clean surface that hadn’t been resting on your counter. Soft, tapered edges double as handles for comfortable lifting and carrying, while the cutting surface goes easy on your knives. This one is about twice the size but, still lightweight and it doesn't feel "clunky", like so many of the thicker wooden cutting boards! We think these smaller boards are best for simple tasks like slicing an apple or cutting lemon wedges, but not chopping vegetables for meal prep.

They're thin and lightweight, making them perfect for moving from storage to a countertop to the sink to a drying rack and back into storage once again with ease. These boards tend to be harder on knife edges than end-grain boards, but they also withstand moisture-based cracking and splitting better, and they are easier to clean.
